COMPANY HISTORY
R.C.Schroder Ltd (now Schrodoco) was formed in 1971 by the late Richard Schroder, with the purpose of importing and distributing Industrial and Automotive Fasteners. The company’s current managing director, Tony Carter purchased the operation in 1985 and expanded it’s range to include Ball and Roller Bearings, Vee Belts and other Power Transmission Products. In 1990 R.C.Schroder Ltd purchased Lin’s Auto Centre (founded in the late 1980’s in Masterton by the late Lin Morris). This acquisition added Auto Parts and Accessories, Hoses, Adhesives and Sealants, Motor Oils and Tools to the product range. In 2001 the organisation purchased the assets of Masterton stockist Brakes and Spares Ltd, adding a comprehensive range of Brake and Clutch components. The Wellington Trade and Retail store situated in Tory Street was sold in April 2009 and closed by the new owner three years later. Schrodoco still operate a small distribution warehouse in Wellington supplying wholesalers and manufacturers only. Schrodoco and Lin’s Auto Centre list more than 35,000 inventory items.
MARKET AREAS
Lin’s Auto Centre hold stockist franchises for the Wairarapa region for SKF Bearings, Champion Automotive Fasteners and Assortment Kits, and Teng Tools. Based in Wellington, Schrodoco import and distribute specialised fasteners to customers throughout New Zealand.
CUSTOMER BASE
Schrodoco and Lin’s Auto Centre offer a full design and consultancy service, including troubleshooting anywhere in the Wellington region. Lins Auto Centre are centrally located and provide generous customer parking to cater for both Trade and Retail sales. Schrodoco and Lins Auto Centre is a respected supplier to the N.Z. Government, Defence Department and Public Utilities, Auto Marine, Motorcycle, Agricultural and Appliance Repair Workshops. Schrodoco and Lins Auto Centre provide essential equipment to industries such as Transport, Aviation, Sawmilling, Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Processing, Printing, Plastic Moulding, Film Industry, Winemaking, Motorsport, Forestry, Service Industries, Fishing and Quarrying.
CAPRICORN
Lin’s Auto Centre are proud to be both a supplier to and a member of The Capricorn Society. This is an international customer loyalty group that allows its members centralised billing, favourable pricing and reward points for purchases. Many of Lin’s Auto Centre customers are also members of Capricorn which makes doing business together both rewarding and very easy.
FARMLANDS
Lin’s Auto Centre have a long history as a supplier to Farmlands Co-operative, an organisation made up of shareholders enjoying preferential pricing and central billing. A great many of the farmers in the Wairarapa region are members of Farmlands and regular customers of Lin’s Auto Centre.
